New Legislation Comment Service
Ever wondered what groups support or oppose specific pieces of legislation and why they feel the way they do? Now there’s an informative, sophisticated and free on-line legislation tracking and comment service at UtahPulse.com, developed in collaboration with UtahPolicy.com. The services allows advocacy groups and interested individuals to indicate their positions on specific bills and leave comments.
Once entities input their positions on legislation, anyone, including legislators, will be able to see at a glance who supports and opposes proposed laws, along with comments from citizens and interest groups. It will become a one-stop source of information about specific bills. Organizations that want to make their positions known can do so manually, bill by bill, or the system can be fed an Excel spreadsheet and the website will pull the data from the spreadsheet and merge it in the legislation tool. Anyone can set up their own list of bills they want to track, and see positions taken by various groups.
A number of legislators say they really like the system because they will be able to see at a glance the positions and reasoning of various interest groups and individuals on specific bills. To get to the service, go to UtahPulse.com and click on “LEGISLATION” in the orange navigation bar, or follow this link: http://www.utahpulse.com/legislation.
